TuneWiki - Top Android Apps of 2009

Tools

Developed by TuneWiki

If you've ever been under the erroneous impression that Jimi Hendrix is singing "'Scuse me while I kiss this guy" during "Purple Haze," then TuneWiki is the mobile media player for you, delivering karaoke-like lyrics functionality synchronized with audio and video playback. But TuneWiki offers far more than lyrics: The application creates a virtual library of songs residing locally on the Android file system or as a URL to a multimedia asset at YouTube, Yahoo Music, Imeem or any other web-accessed library. Social networking features enable users to share favorites with their personal contacts--in addition, TuneWiki integrates with Google Maps to offer site-specific community information based on the user's present location and to illuminate the listening habits and tastes of fellow music lovers across the globe. A related translation feature offers lyrics in the user's native tongue regardless of the song's land of origin, and lends new credence to an old adage: Music truly is the universal language.
