As I posted on Anders' blog the frustrations of Java for enterprise systems are a lot less than for mass market applications.

The main reason why, is that you can often control or have prior knowledge of what hand sets are supported. Quite often you are only handling 2/3 different handsets. In this environment the problems are fragmentation are a lot less pronounced.

Richard-

You are certainly correct. Cross-platform compatibility is less of an issue for mobile enterprise apps.

However Anders' seems to be advocating for Java in the enterprise *because* of its compatibility, so I think it's certainly fair to point out that Java portability isn't always as easy as it should be.
