Microsoft files patent for new mobile user interface

Tools

A new patent filed by Microsoft with the United States Patent and Trademark Office documents what the software giant calls "Extensible Filtered Lists for Mobile Device User Interface," outlining details for improving the consumer data experience by arranging access to multiple applications through a group or listing of items. Each group or list would include multiple items associated with data or tasks from multiple applications--in addition, each grouping would be both customizable and extensible. In effect, the item groups together offer users a filtered view of content available through the mobile device, improving access to available data and tools.
