Verizon to release BlackBerry Storm software update

about time...but why .113 why not something later....

waiting and waiting and waiting!!!!

The new update, it's been tested, so what is taking so long to release it.

hope this update fixes the phone from rebooting atleast 2-4 times a day....

im trying to hang on but if this don't fix the strom then im out.

Im so there with you. Im over this Storm and am jealous of my fiance's Curve....and it should be the other way around!!!

My previous blackberry(Curve)was fantastic, fast and the best phone I had owned. I migrated to the Storm and have been greatly dissapointed. its slow, the orentation drives me mad and in weak areas it looses signal and goes into SOS mode and I have to re-boot to get it to act as a phone again. Also the operating software is slow and fustrates me. My son's Iphone by comparrison is a far better phone and I'm waiting for a new Storm update and if its no better, I'm ditching the Storm and blackberry for good, maybe migrating to an MS based phone of which my colleage has and works better than the Storm

The wait is ridiculous. I am on my third storm because they suck so bad.It has a lot of potential but right now I don't know how much longer I can tough it out. Great Service,Crappy Phone

If they release .113 then we are completely toast. Even though .113 addresses several issue it actually makes the battery life issue worse and the memory leak issue worse if you can believe that. I know some who have tested .122 and .132 and they appear to be little better on both of those fronts. I think maybe that is why we have not seen and official release from Verizon because they are already getting hammered complaints and replacements for the Storm.

RIM just cannot get 4.7 right. Even the Niagara will suffer. Storm is already a proven failure. Its not verizon either, its just that corrupt company from Waterloo.

i got my first bb storm in dec 08 have had 7 > 8 replacements. the latest sent down on thursday and that one does not work correctly. I will be phoneing vodaphone on monday to come out of my contract as this phone is not fit for purpose. Jeff

4th storm here too... Reps don't know ANYTHING. They have saying the update will be ouT NEXT week since end of feb! Right out of my 30 day
Return... I am waiting on the new curve to replace this crap. After 3 replacements you can trade out for a new phone! ASAP! Worse phone ever

I picked up a Storm earlier this year and I love it, works great. I would like to get the update, as all of the above - still waiting

I tried to stick it out, I bought a storm at launch. There are things i love but features aren't implemented well. It's just so glitchy, buggy and slow to respond.

I finally broke down and jumped onto the iphone bandwagon. I had high hopes for the Storm. Hopefully the next one will be better. I don't think any amound of software updates will fix the issues. Look how long it's taken to get even one. I feel like RIM has given up on it so we are left to suffer

So anyone that reads this old article knows, bad intel. .113 was not released. I've been running the leaked .141 for over a week and it is seriously the BEST leak yet. It is so vastly superior it is like having a different phone! Vodafone UK has officially released .141, so here's hoping Verizon follows suit soon. And no, you can't run the Voda release on a VZW Storm. You can get an "official" release from Bell of .122 which DOES work on the VZW Storm once you delete vendor.xml.

This wait is too long...i heard it is suppose to come out on may 11th...it better or else im prob. ditching this phone

VZW Customer here and have been running with .132 for a couple of weeks. Phone has been working great since then. Just close out the apps as you don't use them seems to correct a lot of issues. Camera is much faster as well as the reaction time. Hope VZW doesn't run with a .113 downgrade. It's a shame that two companies that have great products can't seem to come together on this.

Any word on the update from Verizon? Had the storm since the start and it is absolutely horrible. I thought my Moto Q was bad. I can't take the reboots any longer.

Do any of you review a phone before you purchase? Why invest hundreds of dollars in a phone you know nothing about and a couple months later complain and whine about how much it sucks. Its your own fault for making a foolish purchase. You're all suckers to the suits man.

I was done waiting a long time ago. I've been a blackberry user for about three years and the OS sucks so bad on this phone. I too jumped ship to the iPhone. I LOVE THIS PHONE!! I Gotta say, But unfortunately since the move to ATT I no longer get reception at my house x_x. Nor at several places that I frequent most of the time. I guess im gonna have to live with it till Verizon gets a better blackberry or the iPhone.

new OS .148 came out a week ago... seems to have fixed a lot of the memory leak issues.. and so far for me.. no more unwanted reboots, havent seen that colorful spotted screen anymore either.. ive been happy with my storm despite the bugs.. now the only thing i wish they could do was find a way to speed up the browser DL speed a lil
