Last week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Microsoft launched a new version of its Windows Live Mobile Developer Program, enabling developers to create mobile versions of Windows Live services designed for virtually any mobile phone, independent of its OS. According to Microsoft, updates include new Mobile Services Protocol features and a new SDK enabling development of mobile versions of Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Spaces applications. Debuted two years ago, the Windows Live Mobile Developer Program now boasts more than 70 independent software vendor partners creating apps for deployment across more than 800 Windows Live for Mobile-equipped handsets.
