Mogees intros mobile billing SDK for Android developers

Mobile billing startup Mogees announced the official launch of its mobile billing platform as well as the Mogees Payment SDK Beta for Android, promising developers for the Google mobile OS the tools to monetize their applications. According to Mogees, which was founded by former PayPal employees, the billing platform was created specifically for the mobile development community by offering a payment processing experience seamlessly integrated within a given application, which the firm says results in higher payment conversion. Consumers may pay either with credit cards or via PayPal account. The Mogees SDK also allows developers to offer various free trial versions of their applications.
Mogees said it plans to release SDKs for the iPhone and BlackBerry platforms as well. To promote the launch of its platform, the company announced a $1 million free payment processing promotion for the first thousand developers who sign up--Mogees will offer eligible developers free payment processing through the end of the year. Billing Revolution launches m-commerce toolkit

Mobile billing and credit card payment services company Billing Revolution announced the debut of a "single-click" mobile credit card checkout toolbox enabling Android, BlackBerry and iPhone developers to add on-the-go purchasing capabilities within their existing applications. According to Billing Revolution, the turnkey credit card billing service promises developers the tools to monetize their applications by enabling consumers to purchase products and services--the Billing Revolution platform works across all web-enabled handsets, fostering sales of digital and physical goods like concert tickets, games and books. The service is free to developers, although Billing Revolution takes a per-transaction fee on all purchases its toolbox powers.

Improved network coverage, growing demand for feature phones and smartphones, and service availability are combining to increase consumer demand for mobile commerce applications according to a new study issued by market analysis firm IMS Research. The company forecasts that while the number of wireless subscribers will grow 32 percent over the next four years, the number of active mobile banking and payment service users will increase 662 percent over the same timeframe. Noting the growing number of application developers and platform providers now emphasizing m-commerce services, IMS says that mobile operators and banks are forming strong partnerships in regions like North America, Japan and South Korea--however, the m-commerce opportunity appears even more lucrative in areas where banking infrastructure is much more limited. Security nevertheless remains a concern, especially in more mature markets, where users will first experiment with low-risk services like monitoring account balances. Users in developing markets, with fewer conventional banking services at their disposal, will be much faster to embrace mobile alternatives.
