newspapers

May 2009: Apple rejects developer Makayama's Newspapers, an ereader application featuring publications including the U.K. daily The Sun, a tabloid notorious for its topless Page 3 models. Apple contends the app violates App Store policies against obscene content; after Makayama re-submits the app minus The Sun, Apple gives its approval, but adds in email that the developer might have a chance to resubmit the application complete with Page 3 models with the introduction of its iPhone OS 3.0 software update, which brings with it new firmware parental control options.
